Keith Haring (1958-1990) was an amazing pop graffiti artist whose work rose from the streets of New York City to become a cultural phenomenon. This week, some of his original works land in the Akron Art Museum for a limited time, along with an inspired capsule tee created by 7th Floor Clothing co-founder Preston Clark. The museum's Social Media Content Creator, Matt Hribar, contacted 7th Floor Clothing via Facebook to create something special to commemorate the "Against All Odds" exhibit from April 14th, 2023 - September 24th, 2023. A Friday kickoff party sold out so fast that the Akron Art Museum had to extend it to Saturday. The T-shirt will only be available at the museum gift shop, which has been transformed into a full Keith Haring Pop Shop experience. "I enjoyed diving into my childhood to create this shirt. The Art Museum reminds me of a space station so the flying saucer was my go-to for this design" says Clark. "Keith Haring did the album art for RUN DMC and clothing for Madonna, and it's on everything from Cole Haan shoes to Mac lipstick. I saw his work before I knew who he was."
